GT Activities by Unit for 6th Science
GT students will not be pulled out of the regular classroom for GT enrichment. I have put together enrichment activities for 6th grade science GT students. These activities are optional and are not extra credit. These are merely activities students can do which I will post somewhere (ex: Twitter, school Facebook, Maxey blog, etc) to share with students, parents, and the community.
Note: These activities can be completed in a variety of methods to be chosen by the student. Examples might be written, poster, drawing, blog, video, photo gallery, voice thread, etc.
Cells - explain cellular respiration in mitochondria
Reproduction - Bikini Bottoms Wks and Alien Genetics Wks (below)
Volcanoes - compare/contrast the different types of volcanoes
Phys/Chem Properties & Periodic Table
Explain how molecules are formed.
Ecology - what can you do in your community to help preserve coral reef communities?
Energy - Coaster Practice (http://www.jason.org/digital_library/4851/coaster-creator) , design with at least 3 loops and a score of 2800+
